In the first week of December 2008, we saw the release of the new "molded" Lunker Punker from Black Dog Baits. These new models feature the same great "walk the dog" action of the original, except they are a lot lighter due to their hollowed body construction. Another benefit to the injection molding process is the consistency with regards to the shape and size of the baits and a substantial reduction in retail price compared to the hand-made originals. The new molded Punkers feature a life like three dimensional scale patterns, fins, and gill plates.

The baits are still offered in the 8" and 6" Jr models and come in a silent and rattling styles. Another great aspect of the molded Punkers is the realistic translucent ghost colors they offer such as Ghost Rainbow Trout and Ghost White. They also come in solid colors : Rainbow Trout, and Dark rainbow trout. The new models can be thrown on a 7' or 8' moderate action rod with 25lb monofilament or 65lb to 85lb braided line with relative ease.
